When upgrading your S13 240sx rear brakes to Nissan 2 pot caliper and rear drum e-brake you will find the e-brake cables do not exactly line up to the S13 240sx chassis and e-brake lever.
The GKTECH cable conversion plate is made from laser cut 8mm thick steel and allows you to easily adapt R33 2 door e-brake cables to your S13 240sx chassis and e-brake lever.
We allow these lines to be located via the OEM e-brake pin which is cast into the cable bracket into the bracket and also have incorporated an M8 thread in the plate to hold the cables down rather than the M6 thread used from OEM.
This means you don’t have to waste time around with loose nuts on the top and fidgeting around with spanners and tools.
While you are doing this conversion it would be worth upgrading the brake lines also. You can choose from either just the rear lines if you have the front sorted or a full kit.
Our full brake line kit is specifically made for an S13/240sx that is doing this conversion and using these brakes.
The GKTECH braided brake lines are assembled using stainless steel fittings and hose that consists of a Teflon inner tube wrapped in stainless steel braid and a PVC outer coating for protection. The brake lines have been independently tested to comply with FMVSS106 standards for brake hoses. This makes the lines DOT compliant in the USA and they are marked as such on the brake line assemblies.
The FMVSS106 testing procedure that the lines have been tested against includes the following tests:
- 370lbs pull test
- 35 hour whip test
- 7000psi burst test
- -45degF to 245degF temperature tests
- 24 hour salt corrosion resistance test
NOTE: MUST be used in conjunction with the R33 2 door e-brake cables. Will NOT work with other cables.
FAQs
Can't my original lines bolt up?No, they do not. When doing a brake conversion that requires drum brakes you will find the cables do not match up to your S13 240sx OEM lever and front cable. This means you need our conversion plate that enables you to keep your OEM lever and front cable while running the 240SX Drum E-Brake Conversion cables (R33 Cables).
Will this work with any other cables?
No sir! This plate has been designed to only use the 240SX Drum E-Brake Conversion cables (R33 Cables), as mentioned above.
Why use an M8 hole to locate the cables instead of the M6 provided by the factory?
We noticed the OEM e-brake cable has the allowance for a larger bolt to be used to secure the cable, why not use something that is already there to make a better/stronger product!
Is 8mm too thick and will this cause any issues?
There are no clearance issues and considering people are constantly pulling the e-brake whilst drifting we felt the need to overcompensate an important connecting part.
Does this come with everything I need?
Yes, this kit comes with all the accessories to bolt directly up.
What if I have Z32 rear brakes fitted, which cable do I use?
This listing is for the use of an R33 cable which can bolt up to your Z32 rear brakes and the adapter plate also in this listing. You do not need to purchase the Z32 cable in our other listing, that is only for a direct OEM replacement.
