Lower Shift Boot Retainer

Awesome for use not in a S13/R32, but in a 1976 Mazda RX2!

I used one of these for my 13BT converted 1976 RX2/RE Capella which is fitted with a S4/5 turbo box. When I got the car, hot air was coming through the transmission tunnel, as under the centre console was the open road! I recalled, from when I owned my 180SX from 20+ years ago, it had a nice inner gearbox boot and thought I would try and track one down. Found these brand new ones and gave it a go. I had to draft up a "cover plate" that covered the hole in the transmission tunnel and then this boot attaches on top of that. The only other thing I had to do, was since the Mazda gearstick is narrower than the S13 one, I had to add a thin piece of flat rubber to take up the excess gap. But works magic!

Better than oe

Everything fit great, this isn't flimsy like the oe boot retainer. Wish I bought this years ago instead of trying to get the oe one back to it's original shape.
