The GKTECH IS200/IS300 dual caliper hydraulic e-brake setup is the only COMPLETE kit available anywhere. Literally, everything required is included and it's a range of GKTECH and Wilwood components. If you have an IS200/IS300 and you want your rear brakes to lock up in an instant, this kit is the way to go.
The contents:
E-Brake assembly:
Self explanatory, this is the e-brake assembly that houses the lever and master cylinder.
E-Brake handle:
This beautifully crafted CNC machined aluminium lever has been designed with ergonomics in mind whilst being aesthetically pleasing. Eg. it is comfortable and it looks good. Choose between silver, black, blue, pink, purple, red, orange, gold or neo chrome.
Master cylinder:
Choose between the remote mounted 5/8" and 3/4" master cylinders which use a remote mounted reservoir. For the Wilwood 2 pot calipers our recommendation is 5/8" but more on that below in the FAQ's.
Chassis specific e-brake mount:
Our chassis specific e-brake mounts are designed to ensure that our e-brake assembly can be fitted in an optimal position without the need to cut or drill into your transmission tunnel.
These e-brake mounts require no trimming to the center console and is an optional item in the event you already have your own as well as suiting AT and MT tunnels.
NOTES
- OEM airbag module will need to be removed
- Trimming of shifter surround required underneath
- Light massaging of transmission tunnel may be required for manual transmission vehicles
- Lever will replace cigarette lighter on LHD models and ashtray on RHD models
Dual caliper brackets, calipers, pads & spacers:
The bracket that allows the Wilwood Dynapro 120-10188 caliper for this setup. They are a small but bitey caliper and only caliper that we found to work with the OEM rotors.
This kit includes aluminium caliper spacers, EPDM O-ring, replacement fasteners, brake pad pins, r-clips which is everything needed to widen the caliper from 9mm to 12mm.
To suit the OEM rotor/ knuckle and does NOT work with OEM calipers.
Over the years we have tested many brake pads with these calipers and ended up at the Wilwood BP-10's. They're economical, readily available, very bitey and last.
NOTES
- Modification / removal of the dust shield is required for fitment.
- Some grinding of the upright is required due to casting marks and variation, see customer assembly guide.
Braided lines:
Made in-house in Australia using stainless steel fittings and using stainless steel braided line with a PTFE outer these lines are made specifically to suit Nissan S chassis and even include the P clips to locate the line throughout your vehicle.
The GKTECH braided brake lines are assembled using stainless steel fittings and hose that consists of a Teflon inner tube wrapped in stainless steel braid and a PVC outer coating for protection. The brake lines have been independently tested to comply with FMVSS106 standards for brake hoses. This makes the lines ADR approved in Australia and they are marked as such on the brake line assemblies.
The FMVSS106 testing procedure that the lines have been tested against includes the following tests:
- 370lbs pull test
- 35 hour whip test
- 7000psi burst test
- -45degC to 146degC temperature tests
- 24 hour salt corrosion resistance test
FAQs
Is there anything else needed for installation?Besides brake fluid, everything is included in the kit. BYO tools.
How do I know which size master cylinder to choose?
Typically the 5/8 master cylinder is proven on an IS chassis running the single or two pot brakes, the lever feel with this master is balanced, having a longer more typical throw to gauge feel while still efficiently locking the rear brakes.
The 3/4 master cylinder is larger, so when used in the same setup the lever feel will be more direct, firmer, and require less throw to lock the rear brakes.
